The careful use of resources is part of the HeiTel product philosophy.
The excellent energy balance of the HeiTel VideoGateways is, however, not only a benefit for the environment, but also saves money for the operator. Specifically, a simple sample calculation shows the cost benefit of HeiTel VideoGateways.
We are comparing the power consumption of a HeiTel VideoGateway CamDisc SVR (15 W) with a typical PC-based DVR (135 W).
A conservative calculation taking current electricity tariffs into account shows an enormous saving in operating costs after a run of five years. This result points out a clear price advantage of a HeiTel VideoGateway, which has to be considered in any project calculation.
